Just around the corner from where we live it has a real mixture of things. Here you can find vintage treasures, cakes, fresh fruit and vegetables, a butcher, hand made clothes, toys for the kids, fresh coffee and even flowers. The stall holders are eager to chat about what they're selling, give away samples, and have a general natter about the weather and the neighbourhood.
Everyone goes for a wander, sits to have a coffee or does their weekend shopping before meeting up with friends for a pint or some fish and chips from the shop down the road.
I would love to get organised enough to do my weekly shopping there every Saturday morning. It is a tad bit on the expensive side, as all organic produce can be, but nowhere near as expensive as other food markets.
Broadway Market is every Saturday, and if you're in the Hackney area stop by and have a wander up and down the street. You can also visit a couple of other small but lovely markets close by that have some great food pop-ups and vintage stalls: Nettle Market and the School Yard (which is next to Nettle Market).
